360067 90' Cable Assembly
Description
A stainless steel aircraft cable assembly for internal halyard systems. Features a swivel to prevent unraveling and is designed for use with a winch.
Constructed of 1/8" and/or 3/16" stainless steel aircraft cable incorporating a stainless steel swivel to minimize the effect of unraveling due to the rotation of the truck assembly. The upper cable section is supplied with a stainless steel thimble, 2 copper crimps, and two ball cable stops, however, because this section must be threaded through the truck assembly, these parts are not attached to the cable before shipment and must be attached in the field. These standard cable assemblies are designed for flagpoles with a winch installed at 4' above grade.
Note: 360332, 360333 and 360334 to be used with 5" diameter poles with a M-5 Winch installed.

Cable Assembly Replacement Instructions
After the flag is lowered/removed, and after the winch and the cable have been removed from the pole, use the steps below to replace the cable assembly.
Steps to Replace the Cable Assembly
- Remove the truck from the flagpole.
- Remove the top cap housing from the flagpole truck (it is secured with three screws located at the base area of the truck).
-
With the old cable already removed, locate the hole in the bottom spindle of the truck and thread the end of the outer cable into that bottom hole. Feed the cable upward into the truck housing area.
Outer cable identification: If your cable assembly includes two diameter cables, the thicker cable is the outer cable. If both cable sections are the same diameter, the outer cable is the section that is slightly longer. (These two sections are joined by the swivel connector, which remains on the inside of the pole.)
-
Locate the pulley on the inside of the housing cap and continue threading the end of the outer cable up and around the pulley.
Key alignment check: Align the pulley exit point with the exit bushing on the bottom portion of the truck so the cable can run freely.
Then reinstall the cap housing using the three screws.
-
With the outer cable now exiting the flagpole truck, crimp the thimble onto the end of the cable length.
One thimble, two crimps, and one retainer ring ball are supplied in a separate bag with the cable assembly.
Place the ball onto the end of the outer cable length before installing the thimble and crimps. This ball acts as a stopper positioned between the crimps and the bushing at the truck exit point.
With the ball installed, thread the two crimps onto the end of the outer cable length, wrap around the thimble, and secure the crimps.
-
Feed the inner/lower cable through the top of the pole, down into the pole so it can be secured to the winch.
Then reinstall the truck into the top of the pole and reinstall the winch into the pole as it was done during the original installation.
Note: You will need a crimper (swaging tool) on hand to complete this cable assembly change. The retainer ring, counterweight, and flag arrangements should reconnect to the end of the outer cable assembly as originally installed.
