In this category are flagpole cleats, halyard (rope), snaps & accessories. A cleat is an item that attaches to the flagpole shaft, wall, or at some other desired position. The halyard (or rope) is wrapped around the cleat to prevent the flag and/or halyard from moving up/down the pole. We recommend to replace warn out halyard before it snaps as this can help save the cost of expensive flagpole repair. A cleat cover box is an optional security feature for external halyard flagpoles which affixes to the pole over the cleat and halyard.
Halyard is rope or cable that runs from the top to the bottom of the flagpole. External halyard flagpoles typically use polypropylene halyard because it is unilaterally woven and does not wear out as easily. A stronger solution is nylon wire center halyard. For flagpoles with a mechanical winch mechanism, stainless steel aircraft cable is used.
A swivel snap is used to attach the flag to the halyard or cable. The closed ring attaches to the halyard or cable and the spring clip or clasp attaches to the grommet or thimble of the flag.
Tip: Keeping your flag pole parts in good condition can help extend the average life of your flags, and greatly reduce the cost of expensive flag pole repair. Replace warn out halyard (rope), swivel snaps or trucks before they stop functioning. You could save the cost of having to get to the top of your pole with a lift or bucket truck. If you don't know anything about your flagpole, you can use the Flagpole Finder to help find the standard parts & accessories for flagpoles exactly like your own.
